welcome to
Wild Brook Counseling
At Wild Brook Counseling, we provide counseling to individuals, families, and couples who have been impacted by trauma or distress related to infertility, pregnancy, birth, parenting, and/or postpartum.
Additionally, we provide individual therapy focusing on anxiety, depression, and trauma; as well as therapy specialized towards therapists themselves in hopes to eliminate and avoid secondary traumatic stress.
We currently offer services to those residing in Connecticut.
“Mothering you is also mothering me, and through mothering you, I have found healing that I never thought was possible.”
hello! my name is
Cassandra Weik
I am a mother of two boys, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and certified in perinatal mental health. I have worked in the field of maternal mental health, attachment based therapy, parenting and birth trauma since 2015 and it is truly my passion. As a mother myself, I know and understand the importance of taking care of ourselves. Entering the world of parenthood can bring a whirlwind of emotions, and I am so happy you are here so we can begin your journey together.
Individual Therapy
Beyond perinatal support, we offer individualized therapy focusing on anxiety, depression, and healing from traumatic or stressful life events. Often times, our past comes into our future in unexpected ways, and individual therapy is a powerful tool to help heal from the past to create a healthier future.
Perinatal Support
Certified in perinatal mental health, our therapists address all stressors related to the perinatal period. Postpartum anxiety and depression affects not only mothers, but fathers, too. All are welcome in treatment as we can provide individual, couples, and family therapy sessions. Whether you are newly in the perinatal period or several years out, we are happy to help.
Therapy for Therapists
As a therapist, your mental health is crucial. We often give without limits, and that can leave us feeling drained, depressed, and burnt out. Our line of work leaves us prone to secondary traumatic stress if gone without the appropriate care and treatment. We are here to help prevent or heal from such effects.
